Youth Wellness & Prevention Manager
The Youth Wellness and Prevention Manager position is focused on the development and coordination of our Youth Wellness and Prevention initiative, including communication, expanding partnerships, grant objective elements, and awareness activities. The Youth Wellness & Prevention Manager efforts should all be designed to engage, educate and empower the development of healthy, thriving youth, families and communities.
Responsibilities include ensuring Makin’ It Happen’s mission, vision and values are consistently considered and infused in all elements of the development of Youth Wellness and Prevention initiative.
Makin’ It Happen’s goal is to lead the development of a prevention-based, whole health-equity infused strategic plan designed to encourage collaboration, and instill consistent support for the youth, families and communities within the Greater Manchester region. The greater Manchester region includes the following types of communities: Urban: Manchester, Suburban: Bedford, Goffstown and Hooksett, and Rural: Auburn, Candia, Deerfield and New Boston.
General responsibilities: Lead the development and continued refinement of a Youth Wellness and Prevention initiative, with a special focus on further development of the collaborative. Develop and strengthen partner agency relationships, expanding both the youth wellness core partners and the sphere of influence partnership.
Work with youth and youth leaders to coordinate learning, leadership, and mentoring opportunities. Promote positive, healthy living through building prevention awareness and supporting federal, state and local prevention awareness campaigns and initiatives.
Working in collaboration with our Marketing and Communications Manager, create a communication approach designed to engage partners in the continued development of the Youth Wellness and Prevention initiative. Expand our ability to highlight the importance of positive living for/and among our youth/young people.
Assist with communication (social media) efforts as needed/assigned
- Demonstrated skill in Microsoft office suite, Canva, adobe
- Proficient utilizing zoom, constant contact
Assist with community impact events as needed/assigned
- Experience working with youth, young people and youth serving organizations
- Community event experience
Expand professional development with a goal of maintaining/obtaining NH Prevention Specialist Certification
- Open to learning new skills/trainings
Assist with select training and presentation opportunities in collaboration with the Resiliency Essentials, and Recovery Ready Communities staff
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Ability to adapt to different environments and work with different sectors of the population (youth, families, communities, business, education, health, safety/law enforcement)
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work, public health or community development/organizing or,
- Bachelor of Arts in any of the about with two-three years’ experience within a public health/prevention system
- Social, public health system experience
- Prevention/coalition experience
- Certified Prevention specialist (or in the process of obtaining)

Salary and benefits:
- This is a full-time, grant supported, salary-based position
- Flexible in/remote office model, partner location meetings as well as remote working environment, and may require evening or weekend hours
- Current salary pay range: $56,000.00- 60,000.00, set based on experience and length of service

Community Impact in the 603 Project Impact Coordinator
Focused on the development and coordination of project specific communication, grant objective elements, and awareness trainings/activities. Community Impact efforts are all be designed to engage, educate and empower the development of healthy, thriving youth, families and communities as described below.
Responsibilities include ensuring Makin’ It Happen’s mission, vision and values are consistently considered and infused in all elements of work. This position’s focus will be on supporting two of the main initiatives: 1). Youth Wellness & Prevention initiative project elements and awareness activities. This body of work is specific to the city of Manchester and is a partnership collaboration with Amoskeag Health. 2). Project Upstream – prevention and awareness initiative, which is primarily focused on the suburban and rural communities within the greater Manchester region. Both initiatives are part of our Community Impact in the 603 (CI603) focus area. In addition, support other CI603 initiatives as assigned.
General responsibilities:
As a team member, contribute to the development and maintaining of a robust youth-serving partners list. Support the action and communication rollout plan designed to engage partners in the implementation of the CI603 initiatives, including but not limited to:
Parenting training project (BOTVIN – parents of middle school aged youth)
Assist with communication (social media) efforts as needed/assigned
Assist with community impact events as needed/assigned
Outreach and assistance with the expansion of partnerships
Assist with the planning, scheduling and tracking of Project Upstream activities and events
Basic requirements/experience:
Experience working as part of a team environment
Experience working independently
Strong people skills, including with youth, young adults, and adults
Fluid in Microsoft office 365, Constant Contact, Zoom, Canva
Familiar with the Greater Manchester region communities (urban/suburban/rural)
Current driver’s license/own transportation
Bi-lingual a plus
Experience working for a non-profit agency a plus

Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health or education or,
Minimum of Associate’s level education in social work, public health, with two or more years of job experience, or
Three/four years of positive employment in a non-profit or school-based setting
This position is currently a full-time position. Part-time option is also available.
This is a grant supported, salary-based, flex position, requiring a mix of in-office, partner location meetings as well as remote working environment.

Current salary pay range: $52,000-56,000, set based on experience and length of service (full time rate)

Communications Lead
The Communications Lead position is focused on the development of clear, current, and timely information and communication designed to engage, educate, and empower the development of healthy, thriving communities
Responsibilities include ensuring Makin’ It Happen’s (MIH) mission, vision, and values are consistently considered and infused in all our communication efforts for our service and focus areas. This position supports our three focus areas: Recovery Ready Communities, Resiliency Essentials, and Community Impact in the 603.
Content Development and areas of responsibility:
Marketing and Communications:
- Development of materials to support the three focus areas – print and visual media
- Development of a tracking system to monitor the effectiveness of effort (data collection and evaluation)
- Marketing/promotion of MIH community impact events and programs
- May include the development of event flyers/information sheets
- Visual media (posters, social media postings, etc.)
- Active support during events and programing as needed
- Expansion of our website content and community compass resource guide
- Development, coordination, and promotion of our two Podcast series: Life of a Teen (LOAT) and Community Conversations. One podcast per series per quarter, a minimum of eight per year
Social Media:
- Continued development and management of social media messaging
- Expansion of community partner engagement
- Track effectiveness, report out monthly
Story core:
- Creation of a series of progress-focused stories designed to engage, educate, and empower
- Develop and coordinate an ‘in our own voices’ training and speaker’s bureau for those with ‘lived experience’
Other:
- Other duties as assigned – As focus areas grow, responsibilities may grow
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated skill in Microsoft office suite, Canva, adobe and podcast software
- Proficient in taking photos and video recording events/meetings
- Proficient utilizing zoom, constant contact
- Advanced people skills – experience working with diverse population sectors
- Understanding of community development and continuum of care model
- Experience working independently and in group settings
- Established interpersonal skills – able to join team discussions, solution driven
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in communications/marketing, public health or community development/organizing or,
- Bachelor of Arts in any of the above with 2 -3 years’ experience in public health systems development, macro social work, or community development/organizing
- Social, public health, non-profit, prevention-based work experience
- Prevention coalition experience
- Certified Prevention Specialist, in process of obtaining/maintaining
- Current driver’s license/own transportation
- Background checks are required
Position Details:
- This is a team-based, grant funded, salaried position
- MIH operates under a flexible in/remote office model, allowing for schedule and workspace flexibility
- Laptop and printer (if needed) will be assigned
- On-boarding process (throughout first month), 90-day probation period
- Two weeks paid vacation, available to schedule post 90-day probation period
- Robust Holiday (paid) schedule
- Performance review will be scheduled annually (based on start date)
- Salary to be based on experience, full time salary range: $55,000 – $60,500
- Health care benefits are the responsibility of the employee
This is a grant supported, salary-based, flex-work position, with opportunities for expansion. Flex-work model includes a mix of in-office, in-region (greater Manchester), and state (Concord) meeting as well as remote working environment.
