Makin’ It Happen would like to take this time to welcome our Summer Intern, Isabelle Strandson!
Isabelle started interning for Makin’ It Happen in the summer of 2021, where she first discovered her passion for public health. Presently, she has been pursuing her B.S. in Biomedical Health Sciences, with a minor in Global Public Health. Isabelle has worked on many projects with the organization, including the Harm Reduction Initiative, Wellness on Wheels events, and currently is developing a landscape of organizations that work with Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery in the Greater Manchester Region.
Isabelle grew up in Manchester, NH, and truly believes in Makin’ It Happens’ mission. “I have observed the impact of untreated mental illness and substance use disorders on the rise of communicable diseases, growth of homeless populations, and socioeconomic impact on individuals and communities.” Isabelle believes that Makin’ It Happen’s approach to public health provides a more successful service delivery and supports the work of other organizations across the state.
Isabelle hopes to gain professional working knowledge and experience from Makin’ It Happen and apply it to her future career as a healthcare professional.
