In a late-afternoon press conference broadcast on Facebook Live Tuesday, Governor Sununu announced the launch of “Recovery Friendly Workplace,” a new initiative designed to promote individual wellness for Granite Staters by empowering workplaces to provide support for people recovering from substance use disorder. The initiative will also offer certain training to managers and support for employees struggling with substance abuse.

“Our workplaces are really part of our lives,” Sununu said Tuesday. “It’s part of the cultural change that we’re trying to bring to the table. And at the end of the day, it’s simply more profitable.”

Nearly 30 businesses from NH have signed on as early adopters of this initiative, and Gov. Sununu announced plans to take this important initiative nationwide. Rhode Island was announced by Sununu as the second state to adopt Governor Sununu’s Initiative.

As one of the 13 Regional Public Health Networks in NH, Makin’ It Happen is very pleased to be listed as a Resource to this great new initiative.
