On March 20th community members gathered for the latest session of the EmpowerYOU learning series, Overdose Prevention & Response. The NH Harm Reduction Coalition did a wonderful job presenting the basic principles of harm reduction, the signs of an overdose and how to respond including Narcan administration. Dean LeMire spoke honestly and compassionately about meeting people where they are at and respecting that each of us is the captain of our own care. Audience members shared stories of the mistrust and trauma that often is a part of life for people who use drugs. They asked thoughtful questions and learned from one another. Together we are building resilience in our communities across the lifespan. Check out the handouts from the presentation below and make sure to check back for a podcast with Dean to be added soon to the MIH on the Radio page.
