John Webb, Goffstown High School Guidance Counselor, was honored by students, faculty, staff, and members of his own family, as he was presented with the NHSCA Counselor of the Year Award in the Information Center of Goffstown High School. We are thrilled to congratulate John on this much deserved award. As far as guidance counselors are concerned, John goes far above and beyond, as what Principal McBride referred to him as “The Face of Goffstown High.” John is never NOT with students. He can be found on any given day all around the school working with kids on issues important to them in an authentic, caring way that opens up the lines of communication and challenges students and faculty alike to think outside the box.

Youth Empowerment is synonymous with the name John Webb. He genuinely cares for his students and will go to great lengths to empower them to reach their goals and dreams. Whether it’s as co-convener of Goffstown Youth Forum, or working with a small group of kids who have a big idea for a new student group or initiative at the high school, John is there. He is someone who we have been so fortunate to work with over the past decade in our region, a strong believer in the science of prevention and the importance of building up young leaders. From joining in with students on a trip to CADCA in Atlanta, to jumping in as an advisor for prevention efforts and trainings, we’ve never known someone with the high spirits, positivity, and willingness to work overtime to make a difference. He is kind-hearted, patient, a true friend and professional. He is Youth Empowerment. John Webb, congratulations on this honor.
