It was a beautiful sunny September day for the Hope Recovery Celebration in Veteran’s Park in Manchester, New Hampshire. Over 50 participating organizations were offering resources to community members throughout the day. Makin’ It Happen was providing Dettera Bags to help the community get rid of their unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medication. Makin’ It Happen also provided resources around harm reduction, suicide prevention, mental wellness, and more!

Makin’ It Happen took part in the Hope Recovery Celebration which takes place annually in September during National Recovery Month. National Recovery Month celebrates the over 22 million Americans living in recovery.  This year’s event took place in Veteran’s Park on a beautiful sunny day.

The rally had many speakers that shared their experiences of recovery. Many artists including musicians and a juggler all in recovery wowed the crowds with their performances on stage.

Makin’ It Happen distributed ‘swag bags’ which included Deterra Bags. Deterra Bags allow for the safe disposal of unused, unwanted, and expired prescription drugs at home. Makin’ It Happen was joined by over 50 other participating organizations at the event which included local recovery residences, treatment and recovery centers, health agencies and various other pathways to recovery.
