Makin’ It Happen is excited to support our community by hosting the monthly At the Bedside Meeting starting on July 20th, 2026!

At The Bedside is a peer recovery meeting that is intended to provide a safe space for individuals in recovery who also hold professional positions in prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and recovery roles. This meeting was developed alongside community organizations that employ people in recovery, most notably Into Action Sober Living.

Many times, individuals who work in these roles are in high-stress environments and are constantly supporting others in early recovery, which can lead to burnout in their own personal recovery journey. This stress is amplified when they attend a local recovery meeting that their clients may also be attending, preventing them from being able to freely share their own struggles in their personal and professional life.

A few highlights about the meeting:
• This is a monthly meeting held on the third Monday of the month.
• This meeting is hosted virtually via Zoom.
• It is not affiliated with any specific recovery pathway (such as 12-step groups).
• It is a speaker-discussion meeting, with a speaker sharing for approximately 15 minutes before the group opens for discussion.

If you are interested in attending or volunteering to be of service for the meeting, please contact Janelle at [email protected] for the Zoom link.
