Although we may be in the coldest season of the year, last month we felt rays of warmth to last all winter! For the second year in a row, Goffstown High School senior, Maddox Turck, spearheaded the impactful initiative to put together stocking for Farnum Center clients and gifts for their children!
With the help of students from Goffstown High School’s clubs, Youth Forum and Peer Outreach, Crispin’s House Coalition for Youth, Student Assistance Counselor, John Webb, and Makin’ It Happen, Maddox was able to deliver 36 stockings and several gifts to Farnum Center that spread cheer to those who may not have otherwise received a gift during the holiday season.
Makin’ It Happen’s Community Impact in the 603 Director, Tracy, highlighted, “This means so much to me because there are so many organizations that give gifts and food to low income families but there are people and children that don’t check the right boxes that still go without at the holidays. When my son was in treatment, he and his son were well taken care of, but that isn’t always the case.
Remember those families that have a parent/guardian in treatment or jail. Just because they’re not on a list somewhere doesn’t mean they don’t need some help!”
We appreciate the opportunity to provide the stockings for this initiative and to collaborate in Makin’ Connection Happen! We are proud to continue supporting impactful initiatives like this that drive our youth to take actions and make a difference.
Way to go Maddox and every student who assisted in successfully making seasons brighter!
