On December 13 and 14, 2023, 44 youth and their advisors from 7 different high schools within the Greater Manchester Region gathered at the See Science Center to participate in a Youth Leadership Training, presented by Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America(CADCA). The training was put on by CADCA in partnership with DEA Operation Engage and Makin’ It Happen. Students in attendance were from Central High School, Memorial High School, Bedford High School, Trinity High School, Goffstown High School, West High School, and Manchester School of Technology.
The CADCA Youth Leadership Training aims to develop fundamental skills for students to be able to make an impact in their communities! CADCA leaders taught students about the Prevention Framework Model to utilize within their schools and communities surrounding student-identified issues, such as vaping, violence, communication gaps, underaged drinking, etc. After the summation of the training, students left with goals that can be put into action to better manage these problems.
We would like to thank our previously mentioned partners, along with our sponsors: Stonyfield, Hannaford, Puritan Backroom, BJ’s, and Elm House of Pizza for helping to make this happen! We look forward to future trainings and opportunities to keep youth engaged and creating the change they would like to see in their communities.
