988 Suicide & Crisis Hotline is a free service that is accessible through call, text, and chat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether a person is experiencing a mental health crisis, or just needs a person to talk to, 988 offers trained counselors for support. Though this service is only 2 years old, it has provided aid to over 10 million people since its launch and has proven to be fundamental in saving people’s lives.
