Makin’ It Happen Launches Responding To Addiction Training!

On February 3, our Recovery Ready Communities Team facilitated Makin’ It Happen’s first Responding To Addiction Training, a curriculum developed and produced by Addiction Policy Forum! Responding To Addiction aims to disintegrate common stigmas associated with addiction and create more understanding surrounding the science of substance use. With relatable examples like substance use to unsatiable hunger, this training invokes deeper meaning to anti-stigma than ever before!

Responding To Addiction is a 3-hour comprehensive training composed of 4 modules that consist of: “Introduction”, “Understanding Addiction,” “Understanding Treatment,” and “Communicating with someone Struggling With Addiction.” Each module is followed by a Question & Answer portion, with the training concluding with a discussion.

Participants represented sectors across the continuum of care, including City of Manchester Homelessness Initiatives, City of Manchester Health Department’s Overdose Prevention, Families In Transitions, Goffstown High School’s Student Assistance Counselor, NHCORR, and Farnum Center! Each attendee was able to highlight the impact the presentation had and how important this will be for the Greater Manchester Region to partake in.

We are so excited about continuing to facilitate Responding To Addiction and Addiction Policy Forum’s more extensive anti-stigma training, enCompass, to community members! We cannot wait to continue Engaging, Educating, and Empowering to foster a more resilient and compassionate community!
