On Saturday, March 16, Makin’ It Happen team members, Tracy, Ashley, and Kay, had the opportunity to attend Spring Into Summer hosted by Manchester Proud and Manchester School District at Beech Street School! Spring Into Summer allowed for all people within the community, with a focus on parents, to make connections to summer programs for children. This event also included access to important resources, such as Office of Youth Services, Health Market Connect, Manchester Transit Authority, and many more!
We had the wonderful opportunity to educate families on the unique services Makin’ It Happen offers, such as featured trainings in mental health that can be catered to parents and/or young people, as well as volunteer opportunities. We were also able to create valuable connections to youth-serving organizations who are offering summer programs to inform them about important training opportunities we provide, such as Mental Health First Aid, QPR, Talk Saves Lives, and more that are beneficial to assess both crisis and non-crisis mental health situations for youth at risk. Do not worry – it was not all serious! We also offered fun Play-Do and stickers!
We are grateful to Manchester Proud and Manchester School Proud and the Manchester School District for welcoming us!
