Meet the newest Makin’ It Happen staff member, Anne Bonner! Anne joins us as the newest Marketing & Communications Lead, where she will help expand and develop all things social media, podcasts, marketing, fundraising, and more (behind the scenes)! We decided to sit down with Anne and get to know her more.

Q: What landed you at Makin’ It Happen?

Anne: I grew up in Connecticut and visited New Hampshire every summer. I also attended a girls leadership academy for high school, where I really found my motivation to make a difference in the world. During my time studying at UNH, I found marketing in public health very interesting and was a part of a student organization where I was the Community Engagement Director and expanded the club from a major-specific organization to a university-wide organization, which I’m really proud of.

Q: Why are you interested in the field of prevention?

Anne: I think prevention is often overlooked in public health, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a big push for physical health safety, while at the same time mental health and substance use was becoming a big concern. I think the world is still recovering from this and prevention education is super important to helping youth & young adults recover from these challenges and prevent them in the first place.

Q: What are your passions? Personal and professional!

Anne: Professionally, making the world a better place and being able to help where I can, especially because I am just starting my career after college graduation. Personally, I really enjoy working out, I like going on walks and running, and physical health is really important to me.

Q: What would you like to achieve at Makin’ It Happen?

Anne: Definitely expanding my knowledge and learning from everyone else at Makin’ It Happen. I think this is a great opportunity to work in a field I’ve not been in yet, but it’s something I would love to continue in the future. Achieving self-growth and growth for the organization – bring some fun ideas for marketing and do what I can!

Q: What are your ultimate career goals?

Anne: Possibly being a business owner in the far future, but for now, it’s really practicing lifelong learning. So, learning as much as I can, being a sponge at the organization and in the world.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

Anne: I like to be outside and spend time with my family and dogs. A lot of my friends live in different states, so I like to visit them, try new coffee shops, and explore.

We’re so excited to have Anne join our team and jump right into prevention for the Greater Manchester Region!
