In March of 2020, Makin’ It Happen welcomed Jane Skantze as our Community Impact Manager, and over the course of almost four years, she made an indelible mark on the organization. Now, as we bid her farewell, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible contributions Jane has made during her time with us.
Jane wore many hats during her tenure at Makin’ It Happen, leaving an impact on various facets of our organization. From crafting eye-catching graphics to managing our social media presence, Jane brought creativity and innovation to the forefront of our outreach efforts. Her dedication extended beyond the digital realm, as she played a crucial role in conducting Resiliency Essentials Trainings for our team.
One of Jane’s major accomplishments was spearheading the MHAT grant project. Her meticulous grant writing skills and strategic approach played a pivotal role in securing funding that has allowed Makin’ It Happen to expand our initiatives and reach even more individuals in need.
Recognizing the importance of a strong online presence, Jane took charge of establishing and managing our social media channels. Through her efforts, Makin’ It Happen gained visibility, fostering a sense of community and engagement with our audience. Her commitment to effective communication greatly contributed to our organization’s social media growth and impact.
Jane fondly recalls her time spent filming the Common Threads Video Series. This project not only showcased her passion for storytelling but also highlighted the diverse voices and experiences within our community. The series became a powerful tool for advocacy and outreach, emphasizing the shared humanity that binds us all.
As Jane embarks on a new chapter in her career, we congratulate her for earning her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston University. Jane’s next adventure will see her working as a Social Worker, focusing on supporting adults with severe and persistent mental health issues. Her dedication to making a positive impact on people’s lives continues in this new role.
As we say goodbye to Jane Skantze as our Community Impact Manager, we celebrate her achievements and the lasting impact she leaves on Makin’ It Happen. We wish her every success in her endeavours, confident that she will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she serves. As Jane pursues licensure in the next two years, we eagerly anticipate hearing about her continued success and contributions to the field of social work.
